Nicely done illustration of a monkey piloted aircraft. And the thought bubble-ish design has more meaning than just an aesthetic element.

H-U-G-E footer! It has awesome flowchart in its design; you’ll have to see to believe! Only quirk – the navigation bar crosses the text!

Night time in Tickerville!!

This is one of the larger footers, and is captured only 1/3rd.  They have an introduction, and it’s LOUD and CLEAR.

Another example where the footer is sort of sober as compared to the psychedelia on rest of the page area, but a cool footer nevertheless.  HTML5 and CSS3 website so old-browser-users – consider yourself warned!

Footer from an Argentinian magazine site..interesting twitter birdie there, and surprisingly the seeming search box redirects to the top.

DezinerFolio continues the minimal textures from the top of the page, which are easy on the eyes and create a cool neon effect.  And who wouldn’t love those babes!

This black footer puts some very important stuff there for people like us – sizing chart.

Designer’s note:

"I just wanted to give the visitor the sensation of being almost by the island laboratory...
and somehow merge it with the background.
The laboratory falls under different sky lights depending on the length of the page due to the background.
The difficult part was getting this images to work well with older browsers.

The footer also had to include a mini site map, directions to the place, and contact information
all of which was deemed important from the usability survey."

This one is interesting – while most of the websites with interesting footers tend to increase the crazy quotient scrolling downwards, this one gets sober at the bottom.
